This morning, when we left for school, I told the kids that Ruby was probably going to have her calf today. We watched her wander across the pasture all alone. Sure enough, when we got home from school, she was with her new calf. I can't tell if it's a boy or girl yet. Whatever the sex, "it" is beautiful and healthy.....so far. Sam and Hannah are wondering what to name it. I suggested "T-Bone". :o)

How cool is life! Congratulation!! I will be waiting to know the verdict on the name.
The kids are still deciding. I have suggested "T-Bone" or "Hamburger" :o)

Great to finally see a post! It's hard to tell from the pic but it certainly appears to be male. I completely agree with the concept of t-bone, ribeye, NY, KC, or strip any particular cut of meat to prevent the little ones from grow too attached to the little critters purpose. You steely eyed killer you : )
